Load your sample
- Open S.K.Y. Keys as an instrument in your DAW.
- Open the Drag & Drop tab and drag your audio file into the area labeled Drop a sample here.
- S.K.Y. Keys detects the sample's pitch automatically. Check the Sample Note selector and adjust it if needed.
- Play a few notes to hear the sample across the keyboard.
SUPPORTED AUDIO FILES
The import feature accepts .wav, .aif, .flac, .mp3 and .m4a files.
Try a few variations
Keep a short MIDI phrase playing while you change one control at a time. Try Vibrato for pitch movement, Filter to change the tone, or Reverb and Saturation for a different character. These are starting points for experimentation; the result depends on your recording and the settings you choose.
Use Attack and Release to adjust the envelope. Release does not make the underlying recording longer: notes still end when the sample file ends.
If an older version crashes during import
Download the current plug-in from your account. An earlier drag-and-drop crash is addressed in the site's support guidance. If the problem continues, contact support with the file type, your operating system and DAW, and a screenshot of the issue when useful.
